January 2021 Newsletter

We are still reveling in the images and videos that continue to be shared with us from Cathedral Illuminated: The Manger.

People viewed our live stream from many places across the country, as well as from Europe, Asia, and Australia. And we feel the love and appreciation shared in the more than 1,000 comments posted on our social media channels. We heard from a few of you about the traffic congestion and wait times. We learned a lot and next year, we hope the restrictions due to COVID-19 will have eased, and we can accommodate more live in-person viewing. In the meantime, enjoy the videos posted on our Facebook page

We learned many of our local CHF Facebook viewers came via a recommendation from Ramsey Country Sheriff Bob Fletcher who shared rave reviews on his “Live on Patrol” YouTube channel. Thank you, Sheriff Fletcher!

Luxmuralis liason, Elisabeth Holod, shared how she came to bring the light and sound show across the pond to Saint Paul, with the Catholic Spirit and Catholic News Agency. Read more…

Coloring book to benefit restoration fund

We are delighted to share news of the very first Cathedral of Saint Paul Coloring Book. The designs inside the book feature monumental works in stained glass and sculpture, as well as a selection of priceless mosaics. Today’s artists (of any age) can add their own spin on work produced by some of the greatest American artisans of their time.

Co-collaborators, InSehnDesigns, and Lori Nicosia, Cathedral Tour Coordinator, designed the book to be part souvenir, part art activity and storybook. It includes 22 illustrations, each accompanied by historical notes. The book also features an architectural drawing, a detailed floor plan, and a selection of colored photos. We have a limited number and we anticipate these selling out quickly once the Cathedral re-opens for tours and larger liturgical events. Place your order for friends and family now. All proceeds benefit the Cathedral’s ongoing restoration and maintenance.

You may purchase the book online for $14 plus $3 for shipping and handling from the Cathedral of Saint Paul’s online gift store. [LINK TO STORE]
