Cathedral Art Lecture and Dinner

Did you know the Cathedral of Saint Paul had its very own “Michelangelo?”

A 17-year-old from Florence, Italy, named Joseph A. Capecchi, arrived in 1906 when the Cathedral of Saint Paul had little more than a foundation built.

Fast forward to the summer of 2023, when Jerry Capecchi connected with Cathedral Archivist Barb Sommers to reacquaint himself with a treasure trove of Capecchi memorabilia. The items included early color sketches of the interior dome his grandfather created for the Vatican Studios. Join us Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. for an immersive art presentation. Capecchi’s own grandsons, who worked as assistants on many projects in the Cathedral, will share the stories, including a distinctly memorable summer of 1976.

Join us for an authentic Italian dinner at 5:30 p.m. and lecture at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $150 $100 of the ticket price is tax deductible.

Tickets for lecture only at 7 p.m. Adults $20 Students $10.
